Awarding Body: Focus Awards
Focus Awards is an Ofqual regulated Awarding Organisation. This guarantees that all of their qualifications confirm to a high standard.
The Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is considered to be an entry qualification for people looking to assess learners on accredited courses. Most training centres would expect that you have this assessor qualification before you start assessing in the FE and HE sectors. You are not required to have any prior qualification or experience to start this level 3 course. This NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) assessor course will assist you regardless of your subject expertise, whether its security training or first aid. The course is accredited by UK OFQUAL, and is delivered 100% online.
This course will qualify you to assess learners in a classroom setting or a simulated environment. It is perfect for you if you are involved in a setting where activities such as tests, portfolios, presentations, quizzes, question-and-answer sessions, simulations, or role-playing, etc., are required. Appropriate for aspirants working in a conventional school or college environment. This course is also suitable for vocations in which the assessments are conducted in a learning environment. This includes assessors for functional skills, corporate learning and development, first aid, training & teaching institutes, private security SIA trainers etc.
This course is designed to be completed online at the pace that suits you the best. This fast track level 3 assessor course can take as little as 4 days or up to 4 months to become an assessor. The level 3 assessor qualification is delivered through our virtual learning environment (VLE). Our online tutor support is there to facilitate you to achieve your success rate accordingly.
All units within this assessor qualification are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. The assessment takes the form of written assignments and demonstration of assessment skills through video recording and portfolio of evidence, detailed guidance for which will be provided by the tutor.
Successful completion of this assessor course enables learners to proceed to the full Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (for which you could gain RPL for 2/3 units and thus only do 1 unit for completion), the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the IQA of Assessment Processes and Practice and the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.

I was made redundant so thought should upgrade my teaching profile with the CAVA. I am so grateful to the tutor for making it all so easy and helping me achieving my ambition of becoming a lead assessor. Applying for the positions now and hoping for the best.

I have done quite a few online courses and must admit that school of leadership was probably the best of all. They are well organised and care about their learners. I will 100% recommend them and do my L4 IQA with them next year.

I was only interested in doing a level 3 award in assessing vocationally related achievement but found this website offering the whole certificate for the same price. It was worth putting that extra effort. I found the admin team (especially Francis) and the tutor (Iqbal) really helpful. Thank you and wish you all the very best.

I strongly recommend the BSLM courses. Their team is very good and easygoing, along with the learning aids and resources. And the L3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement course is regarded as an entrance qualification for those interested in assessing learners enrolled in approved courses. So. ideally, it’s a perfect course to work and gain employment as an assessor.
