Can I access my account without getting verified?

We make sure to verify every single account through email for our users’ account security, in which the user receives a code or link by email. After getting their account verified, the users can buy or enrol on the courses. If you are facing any issue in account verification, contact our support at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk.

Is it mandatory to have work experience to enrol on to a course?

No, it is not mandatory. It might help in satisfying the eligibility requirement if you do not hold the required minimum qualification so please do submit experience letters if you have any. Please visit the relevant section of the course page for more information.

Must I attend an interview to start the course?

Interview is mandatory for most students before getting enrolled on a course, except CPD courses and training events where no interview will be required. The interview is usually very easy to pass and is conducted to make sure that the learner is eligible and capable of undertaking their desired course.

Are there any age restrictions?

There is no upper age restriction. However, some awarding bodies require the learners to be a minimum of 16 years old for Level 3 and above courses. Please visit the course information page of your desired course for more information

Are any physical classes conducted at BSLM?

We are currently offering courses through a Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle).You don’t need to attend any physical classes. You can study from the comfort of your home at the time of your own convenience. However, you will be able to book a 1-2-1 session with your tutor if you need any specific help.

How can I choose the perfect course for myself?

We offer free career advice to all those who are in the process of course selection. Our advisory team will assess your eligibility, past qualifications/experiences and future interests to recommend the best course for you.

Have there been changes made to BSLM's policies due to COVID-19?

COVID-19 is a very serious issue and we are treating it as such. Our staff are working from home to ensure that they can stay safe while still providing learners with the support they need. We are working around the clock to ensure that there are no interruptions to learner progress.

Are coupon codes applied to the overall course fee?

Coupon codes are applied to our tuition fee. The discounts are not applicable to the awarding body fees, as they are payable in full to the awarding organisations such as OTHM and NCFE.

Do I have to complete any group projects with BSLM?

AT BSLM, learners do not have to complete any online group projects. All assessments are meant to be completed by the individual learners on their own.

Courses

I have paid the course fee but I am unable to access my course. Why is that?

Once you have picked your course and paid the course fee, a member of our admission team will send you your enrolment form and subsequently review your documents to verify your eligibility. You may get a call for a short interview. Once all of this is done, you will be given access to the course using our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called Moodle. The entire process takes a maximum of three days.

What are GLH's (Guided Learning Hours) & TQT (Total Quality Time) in courses?

Total Qualification Time (TQT) is a term used within qualifications regulated by Ofqual as part of the Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF). It aims to provide users of qualifications with an indication of the minimum length of time it would take the average learner to complete their qualification.

Guided Learning Hours’ are the number hours of learning required for each CEFR level under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, tutor or another appropriate provider of education or training.

Please note that the actual time taken by the learner will vary and will depend on the individual effort and hard-work of the learner.

Do I receive any help or guidance while writing assignments?

All students are provided with an induction to better understand the assessment process. You will also be given access to blogs written on how to do your best when preparing for your coursework. If you still need any help, you may contact your tutor to arrange a 30-minute ‘assignment preparation’ session with your course tutor.

How long does it take to complete the course?

Students can complete the course at their own pace. On average, a 60 credits course can take 6 months to complete. However, learners are allowed to complete the same in 3 months if they are willing to put the effort into it. This in fact is a great advantage of doing the course online with us.

How many credits does each course hold?

Every course has defined credits that should be completed to complete the course successfully. For course credits, please refer to the course outline of the specified course.

How are your courses accredited?

All our qualifications are regulated by Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation). This means that our courses are fully recognised in the UK and are globally respected.

What are modules and credits and how long do they take to complete?

Each course is split into units that are also called modules. In some jurisdictions, modules might be referred to as units. Please refer to the relevant course page to find out how many modules are there in your course. Our courses are delivered in such a way that a learner may only study one module at a time. Once you have completed the module, you will be given access to the next module and so on.

Do I need to buy any additional textbooks or reading material?

All the course materials are provided through our online learning platform. It is up to the learners to decide on whether they want to buy additional study material, however, we do not require this.

Can I undertake more than one course at a time?

While it is possible, BSLM recommends that only one course is completed at a time. If you have any questions or want to discuss this further, please feel free to contact your tutor or the support team.

What if I do not pass a module?

BSLM will continue to provide the required support until you have completed the module. If you are required to resubmit the coursework, you will be adequately guided on what improvements are required

How do I access my course material?

The course material can be accessed through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called Moodle. If your module has printed materials, you will be able to download these electronically

Admission Process

How do I start a course with BSLM?

Once you have chosen the right course for you, click on the “Apply Now” button on the course page and proceed with the course application. Once submitted, our admissions team will send you a secure payment link to make the payment for your course. Next, you will be sent an enrolment form and may be invited to conduct a short interview over the phone. The entire application process should not take more than 15 minutes, unless you are also required to attempt an English language proficiency test (See English Language Proficiency).

How much time could it take to get back with a response on my application?

After submission of your application, our admission team will check and respond to every application within 72 hours. Within 72 hours, your application status will either be “accepted” or “rejected”. You will receive an email regarding your application status.

How will be my interview taken?

For most of our accredited courses, we will conduct a short interview through Zoom, Skype, or over the phone. Relevant instructions will be sent to you by email with scheduled date and time. If you are not comfortable with the scheduled interview details, you can send us a query or request for changes by replying to that email.

What formats are accepted while uploading documents?

We accept JPG, PDF, PNG formats of scanned documents.

What identity documents are accepted?

Identity documents are mandatory for each application. We accept the following types of identity documents.

  • Passport (ideal means of identification)
  • National ID card
  • Driving license

Scholarships

What is the eligibility criteria for scholarship?

We offer merit-based scholarships to bright students. To check your eligibility criteria, please refer to scholarship eligibility criteria.

Are scholarships available on all courses being offered by BSLM?

We offer merit-based scholarships on all accredited courses. Scholarships cover 100% of our tuition fee. Registration fee of the awarding organization is not included in the scholarship.

How can I apply for a scholarship?

If you wish to apply for scholarships at BSLM, please do check both the course eligibility and scholarship eligibility criteria before submitting the application. Once the eligibilities are checked, please go to the relevant course page and click “ADD TO CART” and select the option “Pay Later”. You will complete the application form as usual. When writing the statement of purpose, you will explain why you should be awarded the scholarship. If you believe that you are eligible for the scholarship on the basis of exceptional academic or career achievement, make sure to submit the relevant documents when prompted to upload the educational documents.

Which countries are our scholarships available in?

All EU and non-EU students are eligible for the scholarship, as it is purely merit-based. To check your eligibility criteria, please visit the Scholarship page.

How many scholarships are available?

Please note, only ten scholarships are available in any academic year. The scholarships are purely merit-based and will be awarded at the discretion of the management.

When will I receive the confirmation for my scholarship application?

We aim to respond to all applications, including the scholarship ones, within 72 hours of submission.

University Progression

Can I get direct or top-up entry on to University courses with BSLM courses?

Our accredited courses are approved by the awarding bodies and many provide University progression routes. For information about course specific University progression, please refer to the relevant course overview. If still unsure, please send an email at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk.

Will I be able to explore job opportunities after completing the course?

Our courses are very practical in nature and will prepare you for practical work in your chosen subject(s). You will have a brighter chance of securing a job after completing one of our courses.

I want to apply for an undergraduate course at a UK university, but do not have the required UCAS points. Can you help?

UK Universities require a minimum level of UCAS points from GCE/A Levels students in order to apply for their undergraduate programs. If you are unable to meet this particular requirement, you can improve your UCAS points by doing one of our Level 3 courses that are approved for UCAS points. English Language Proficiency

What is the minimum English score required for your courses?

If English is not your native language and your final two years of schooling were not in English either, then you are required to have an English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2. This can be demonstrated through any approved English language test such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Is English proficiency mandatory for all our courses?

English language is mandatory for most of our courses. Please visit the relevant course page to find an exact answer.

Note: English assessment test is not required for CPD courses or training events.

How will BSLM assess my English language proficiency?

Our English assessment test is based on two main parts.

  • Reading
  • Writing

Additionally, we will also assess your speaking and listening as part of the interview process.

Must I take an approved English Language test to meet the English language proficiency requirement?

No, you don’t have to. We understand that it is costly and time consuming to attempt tests such as IELTS and TOEFL. As part of your application process, you will be given an opportunity to do an English language assessment that is free of cost and is usually marked within 72 hours as part of your application. Most of our learners would find it extremely convenient to meet the English language requirement by attempting our own assessment as part of the application process.

Can I skip English assessment if I have already done IELTS or an equivalent certificate?

Yes, you can skip the English assessment if you have IELTS or an equivalent certificate. Please note your IELTS score must meet the English Language Requirements.

Fees & Payments

What payment methods are accepted?

The automated payments can be made using one of the two methods:

Is the fee refundable?

If we are unable to deliver a course, we will fully refund your fee with an apology. However, if you decide to change your mind after starting a course, our fee will be non-refundable. Please visit our refund policy for more information.

What type of credit & debit cards are accepted?

We accept all kind of debit and credit cards. If you are facing any issue regarding payments methods, contact our support team at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk.

How are my card details secured?

Your credit/debit card is secured through SSL and TLS. Your data is shared in encrypted form so it is useless for the third parties. For your own piece of mind, we take payments through Paypal and Stripe, rather than using any internally set-up systems. What should I do if I am not able to pay the fee at once?

We offer flexible instalment plan for the students who can’t pay fee at once. You can check the instalment plan of your chosen course on relevant course page. For more information about instalment plan, contact our support team at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk.

How are instalments offered?

We are offering monthly instalment plans on all courses for learners’ ease. As per the company’s policy, the instalment price may vary from the total fee irrespective of the discount offer on the course. BSLM has the right to alter instalment prices at any time as the company’s policy changes. The BSLM monthly payment plan enables learners to pay their course fees in monthly instalments, the first instalment being due when you register for the course. The remainder of your course fees will be due in monthly instalments, payable on a fixed date of each subsequent month. Awarding body fee is not included in the instalment plan. Learners will have to pay awarding body fee within 14 days of starting the course. Please refer to your chosen course page for the instalment plan.

If I have completed my course and instalments are pending, Will BSLM issue my certificate?

All instalments must be paid before course completion. BSLM will not issue the course completion certificate until you complete the instalments.

Is awarding organisation fee included in the instalment plan?

No, instalment plan is only applicable on our course fee. Registration fee of the awarding organisation is mandatory to pay. Without paying registration fee, we are not responsible for any delay in certificate issuance process.

How much time will it take to receive my certificate, if I have completed my course and all instalments?

Certificate issuance process will take usually 3-4 weeks excluding public holidays. If you do not receive your certificate within 4 weeks, contact learner support at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk.

What if I miss my instalment date? Is there any fine for late fee payment?

For late payments, you will be charged £10/reminder email to cover the administrative costs.

International Students

How can I pay for my fee as an overseas student?

Will BSLM act as my sponsor for a student visa?

We are not Tier 4 Sponsors so we cannot sponsor international students to come to the UK. All our courses are taken online so there is no need for our learners to come to the UK. However, our courses do lead to UK university progression. If you do proceed to a University course, the University might be able to sponsor you for your Tier 4 student visa application. CPD

What is CPD?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development, and it is the term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop and enhance their current capabilities and skills.

Why is CPD so important?

CPD ensures that you maintain and enhance the knowledge and skills that you need to deliver a professional service to your existing and future clients. It is an important pre-requisite for most job applications and career progression opportunities.

Who needs to complete CPD?

All professionals working in any sector will need to undertake regular CPDs. The CPD can take form of accredited courses, workshops, seminars, unaccredited online courses, conferences, and training events. The CPD courses that we advertise are auto-delivered and auto-marked unaccredited courses.

Do I receive a certificate for the CPD courses that I complete on the BSLM website?

Yes, you will receive a downloadable certificate upon completion for all BSLM CPD courses. All courses can be completed earlier than the agreed timelines.

Are BSLM CPD courses accredited?

No, our CPD courses are not accredited at this stage. Please be aware that most centres advertising accredited courses are in-fact NOT accredited by an awarding organisation but rather unregulated organisations that do not hold a mandate to accredit courses. Our approach is to be completely honest and transparent about this.

How soon can I commence my CPD once I have completed my registration?

Once your registration has been completed, you can commence your course immediately. You may complete the course on the same day and print the certificate too right away.

Is it worth doing an unaccredited CPD course?

The whole idea of CPD is to continue acquiring additional knowledge and skills, which is very much the idea behind our CPD courses. There is no requirement for CPD to be accredited so you are not losing out on anything.

Will I have to take any online tests with BSLM's learning platform?

You will be required to pass a quiz upon completion of the CPD course. The quiz will test your understanding of what you have learnt on the course. If you do not pass the quiz in the first attempt, you will be allowed to reattempt the quiz as many times as you wish.

Personal Information

What should I do if I forget my account password?

If you have lost or forgotten login details, you can request a new password on the provision of your email address. Email at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk for more assistance.

Can I deactivate my account?

If learners have completed their course, they have the right to deactivate the school account. We will still be required to keep the relevant information for compliance reasons, but you will not receive any communications from us once you have deactivated the account with us.

Can I request to remove my personal data?

All learners have the right to remove their personal data. After completing your course, you can request us to remove your data via email at support@schoolofleadership.co.uk. Our management team will respond to you as soon as possible and remove your data. Please note that we will still be required to keep the relevant information for compliance reasons, but you will not receive any communications from us once you have deactivated the account with us.

Yes, learners can link or unlink payment cards anytime. If you want to link your credit/debit card, you can click on the “Save Card” during payment process and proceed further. If you want to unlink the card details, remove your card details from student dashboard.

Can I update my account details?

All details can be edited through the student dashboard. Once a student has enrolled, they can edit the account details including contact details and contact preferences.

Who can access my personal information?

All personal details are end to end encrypted using SSL and TLS certificates. At BSLM, we make sure that we are fully compliant with GDPR.

Learner Support

Why should I consider online learning?

Online learning allows you to complete the course in your own time and at your own pace. Online learning gives you an opportunity to manage study/work balance. The cost of our online courses is much less as compared to the same courses studied on campus. The ultimate certification you get will still be exactly the same regardless of how the learning took place.

What are the hardware and software requirements for online learning?

The learner will need to have access to a PC or Laptop with a decent internet connection. These requirements are very easy to meet, but please do get in touch if you have any concerns.

Will employers accept my online qualification?

Yes, employers now realize that a large proportion of students will choose to do online qualifications instead of face to face. In fact, many employers will give preference to this option as it shows that the candidates are self-motivated and can work off of their own initiative.

Are online learning platforms credible?

How do I decide between a course with OTHM and Pearson as the qualification and course content looks very similar?

Each course presents its own specific benefits. When choosing a course, you might want to consider:

  • The specific University progression routes.

Can I go on vacation when taking online courses?

Yes, this is one of the many advantages of doing a course online with BSLM. All our courses are self-paced so you can continue your course when you return from vacation, or you can access your course content via your laptop.

What are some of the challenges for students when taking an online course with BSLM?

Learners are expected to be self-motivated and disciplined when undertaking any course online. They need to be able to work independently and carry out their own research online to find answers. If they are stuck, of course the tutors are there to guide them through 1-2-1 sessions.

Why should I choose BSLM over another online platform?

BSLM recognizes that any of our potential students have many options when it comes to choosing their online learning platform. However, at BSLM, we feel that all our courses are competitively priced while also providing excellent student support services.

What if I become ill during my course?

Again, this is one of the main advantages of participating in an online course as all courses run by BSLM are self-paced. When you become ill, you will not fall behind on course material, and you can simply log back in when you feel better and commence your course where you last left off.
