The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance aims to provide learners with a core understanding of specialised & contemporary approaches to finance and accountancy, empirical & theoretical issues, academic research, key practices, and the latest developments in reporting and accountancy requirements from European, national, and local government. This Level 7 Diploma qualification is specifically designed for learners who want to pursue a professional career in accountancy, finance, management, banking, or the financial services industries.
This qualification equips learners with the essential knowledge and skills needed to pursue a high level of career in all private and public sectors globally. This qualification also provides learners with the opportunity to pursue higher studies in a relevant master’s program with advanced standing. The course is accredited by UK OFQUAL and is delivered 100% online with support.
This level 7 online accountancy course is designed to be completed over one year of full-time study. However, we accommodate for completely flexible delivery, so that students can schedule their learning around other commitments such as work or family. The qualification is delivered online through our Virtual Learning Environment with online tutor support.
All units within this course are internally verified by our qualified assessors and externally verified by OTHM. This course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes. To achieve a “PASS” for a unit, a student must complete the learning outcomes to meet the assessment criteria set by OTHM.
This course is the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) equivalent to a Master’s degree. Compared to a Master’s degree, however, the Level 7 Diploma takes less time, and learners can also choose to proceed to the dissertation level of 60 credits with a University to complete a Master’s programme.
Successful completion of OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance qualification enables learners to progress onto a professional career and/or continue to higher studies. As this qualification is regulated and approved by OFQUAL (Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), students are eligible to progress for Master’s top-up programmes at the University of Northampton.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• A UK level 6 diploma, an honours degree, or equivalent qualification.
• Mature learners are also advised to have management experience
• The learner should be 21 or older during enrollment.
Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2, this can be met in any one the following ways:
• Being a native English language speaker
• Having achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• Having had your last two years of schooling in English
• Passing our online English language test
Awarding body fee of £300 is payable by the learner to the awarding organisation within 14 days of starting the course. This will be collected from the learner and passed on to the awarding organisation for registration and certification purposes. The final certification you get is the same, regardless of your route. There are no strict deadlines for submitting individual coursework, allowing you room and flexibility to pace your studies; the only deadline is the overall course duration based on the option you selected above.

I have over 15 years’ experience in teaching and training. I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
