The OTHM Level 6 Diploma in Business Management is specifically designed to provide learners with an excellent foundation for building a professional career in any organisation. The Level 6 Diploma in Business Management qualification ensures that students develop their ability to act as an “independent thinker”, are confident enough to own/run a business, are enriched with detailed knowledge of business management, and are equipped with the skills needed to accept rapid change. The qualification content focuses on operations management, strategic human resource management, leadership and people management, financial decision-making, sustainable business practices, and the business research skills needed at a managerial level.
This course is ideal for those learners who want to start their own business or are planning to start a relevant managerial role in an organisation. Successful completion of the course will enable the student to progress further in their career and/or proceed to higher levels of study.
The qualification is designed to be completed over one academic year of full-time study. However, we accommodate for completely flexible delivery, so that students can schedule their learning around other commitments such as work or family. The qualification is delivered online through our Virtual Learning Environment.
All units within this course are internally verified by our assessors and externally verified by OTHM. This course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes. To achieve a “PASS” for a unit, a student must complete the learning outcomes to meet the assessment criteria set by OTHM.
The OTHM Level 6 qualification presents practical knowledge, skills, competences, and capabilities that are comparable in academic terms as being equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree, Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Graduate Diplomas, and Graduates Certification.
Successful completion of this Level 6 course enables learners to get direct entry into OTHM Level 7 Diplomas, including the Level 7 Diploma in Business Management. As this Diploma is regulated and approved by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulations), learners who pass this qualification are also eligible for admission into relevant Master’s degree programs.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• A relevant GCE/GCSE or NQF/QCF/RFQ Level 5 Diploma/Award or equivalent studies. The course is also perfect for learners holding an undergraduate degree in a different subject.
• The student must be 18 or older at the enrollment
• Students over 21 years are also advised to have management experience.
Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2, this can be met in any one the following ways:
• Being a native English language speaker
• Having achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• Having had your last two years of schooling in English
• Passing our online English language test
Awarding body fee of £300 is payable by the learner to the awarding organisation within 14 days of starting the course. This will be collected from the learner and passed on to the awarding organisation for registration and certification purposes. The final certification you get is the same, regardless of your route. I am an enthusiastic educationist who is a fellow of the higher education academy and I have completed my Doctorate of Business Administration. I worked as an accountant and business consultant up until 2017, where I started exploring my capabilities in academia and teaching. I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
