The aim of the Level 3 Diploma in Business Studies is to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the structure and operations of businesses. Successful completion of the qualification will equip students with the core skills and knowledge required to succeed in further studies or a professional career in the world of business.
This course is designed to be completed over six months of full-time study. However, we accommodate for completely flexible delivery, so that students can schedule their learning around other commitments such as work or family. The qualification is delivered online through our Virtual Learning Environment.
All units within this course are internally verified by our assessors and externally verified by OTHM. This course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes. To achieve a “PASS” for a unit, a student must complete the learning outcomes to meet the assessment criteria set by OTHM.
This qualification pinpoints the practical skills, knowledge, competencies, and capabilities that are comparable in academic terms as being equivalent to GCE AS/A Level.
Successful completion of this course enables the learners to get direct entry into Level 4 Diplomas, equivalent to the 1st year of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree. As this Diploma is regulated and approved by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulations), Universities (University of Sunderland, Charles Sturt University, and Anglia Ruskin University) consider learners who complete this course for direct entry into Bachelor’s degree programs.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• This course is offered to students aged 16 and above. We do not specify entry requirements for this qualification.
• We ensure that students admitted to the program have the capability to undertake the assessment and learning criteria.
Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2, this can be met in any one the following ways:
• Being a native English language speaker
• Having achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
• Having had your last two years of schooling in English
• Passing our online English language test
Awarding body fee of £150 is payable by the learner to the awarding organisation within 14 days of starting the course. This will be collected from the learner and passed on to the awarding organisation for registration and certification purposes. The final certification you get is the same, regardless of your route. There are no strict deadlines for submitting individual coursework, allowing you room and flexibility to pace your studies; the only deadline is the overall course duration based on the option you selected above.

The goal of this course is for Learners to finish it in six months of full-time study. In terms of practical knowledge, abilities, capacities, and competencies, this OTHM qualification at Level 3 are equivalent to the GCE AS/A Levels.

The first year of a three-year UK bachelor’s degree can be directly entered into after completing this course, Level 4 Diplomas. Universities (including the University of Sunderland, Charles Sturt University, and Anglia Ruskin University) consider Learners who complete this course for direct entry into Bachelor’s degree programmes because this Diploma is governed by and approved by a regulated body Ofqual.
No exam is required; the sole requirement for granting your certification is the satisfactory completion of your unit assignment.
This diploma programme is designed for working professionals, O-Level holders, and sales and marketing specialists.
If this diploma is successfully completed, learners can pursue Level 4 Diplomas or get direct entry into Year 1 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree
The Learner will get knowledge of how businesses function and are organised. Will also get an understanding of fundamental information and abilities necessary for success in the workplace or further education.
There are no written exams; assessment is done by submitting the assignments.
Due to the program’s delivery method being an online learning environment, there are no visa requirements to attend.

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
