This OTHM Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership provides learners with core knowledge of strategic management and leadership skills, along with personal and authoritative attributes to convert organisational strategy into effective operational performance from the managerial level. This L7 diploma qualification explores the advanced practices relating to Strategic Management and Leadership and also allows students to expand and develop a high-level of understanding about strategic management and leadership on an industrial scale. The OTHM Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is accredited by UK OFQUAL and is delivered 100% online.
This course is specifically designed for mature learners who wish to pursue higher studies and/or professional development. This distance learning qualification covers clear work-related practical skills alongside theoretical fundamentals.
The qualification is designed to be completed over one year of full-time study. However, we accommodate for completely flexible delivery, so that students can schedule their learning on a self-paced basis through our online portal, to accommodate for other commitments such as work or family or to fast-track their completion. The qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment with online tutor support.
All units within this course are internally verified by our qualified assessors and externally verified by OTHM. This Level 7 Postgraduate management diploma course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes. To achieve a “PASS” for a unit, a student must complete the learning outcomes to meet the assessment criteria set by OTHM.
The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership qualification is based on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) equivalent to a Master’s degrees. A Level 7 Diploma is shorter than a Master’s degree, but learners can still get direct entry at dissertation level at a University’s Masters programme.
Successful completion of this diploma course enables students to progress to a professional career in the field of leadership and management and/or progress to higher studies. As this qualification is regulated and approved by OFQUAL (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation), and equivalent to CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership, students are eligible to progress for Master’s top-up programs at Arden University, Concordia University Chicago, University of Northampton, and University of Sunderland.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• A UK level 6 diploma or an honours degree or equivalent qualification.
• The learner should be 21 or older at the time of enrollment.
• Mature learners are advised to have management experience.

The online OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership, equivalent to a Master’s Degree, is intended for Managers who wish to advance and deepen their understanding of strategic management in the workplace. This qualification is appropriate for students with a background in academic study or industry. This course emphasises developing practical skills and strategic management theories focusing on the workplace.
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership qualification qualifies candidates for advancement into or within the workforce and further study. Learners may advance to an MBA top-up with advanced standing because this OTHM certificate is approved and governed by Ofqual (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
You will learn online because this qualification is taught using a remote learning model. You must have access to a desktop or laptop computer and an internet connection.
If you choose to study full-time, the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is intended to be completed in one academic year; however, it is flexible enough to allow for part-time.
On the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), the OTHM Level 7 diplomas are equivalent to master’s degrees. But to earn a full master’s or MBA, students must continue to the dissertation stage with a university (60 credits), which is shorter (120 credits).

To become an effective strategic manager, learners must successfully complete the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership degree. Additionally, the qualification enables learners to advance in their current jobs or pursue further studies toward an advanced standing MBA.
The OTHM Qualifications Awarding Organisation will provide the final certificate after the learner completes six units and accrue 120 credits.

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support.
