The aim of the NCFE Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business: Retail is to provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of skills required for a business in the retail sector. This Level 3 Business Course provides you with a general understanding of the business environment, as well as in-depth information on visual merchandising in the retail environment, buyer’s behavior in sales, storage of goods in retail, branding, and promotion in a retail business. The course is accredited by UK OFQUAL and is delivered 100% online with tutor support.
This Level 3 Online Business course is designed to be completed in a maximum of 6 months. However, we provide flexible online study, meaning you can potentially finish it in as little as 4 months. The Level 3 Diploma in Skills for Business: Retail is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Our online tutor support is there to support you should you need assistance at any point.
All units within this Level 3 Business Course are internally verified by our qualified assessors and externally verified by NCFE. This course is criterion-referenced, based on specific learning outcomes to enhance a wide range of retail business and entrepreneurship knowledge and skills related to functioning within a business environment. Each unit is graded using the following structure; Not Yet Achieved, Pass, Merit, and Distinction.
Successful completion of this Level 3 Business Course enables learners to get direct entry into the Level 4 Business Diplomas, such as the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Business Management and the OTHM Level 4 Diploma in Accounting and Business. As this Diploma is regulated and approved by OFQUAL (Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulations), learners will also be able to get entry into higher level of studies in various fields at university or HE colleges. Completion will also give learners UCAS points, depending on your grade. Learners get: 24 for a pass, 48 for a merit, 72 for a distinction, and 84 for a distinction*.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• NCFE Level 3 Diplomas can be offered to students aged 16 and above. We do not specify learning requirements for such qualifications. However, students may find it useful if they have already achieved a Level 2 qualification.
• We ensure that students admitted to the program have the capability to undertake the assessment and learning criteria.
• This course is offered in English only.
Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2, this can be met in any one the following ways:
1. Being a native English language speaker
2. Having achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
3. Having had your last two years of schooling in English
4. Passing our online English language test
Awarding body fee of £156 is payable by the learner to the awarding organisation within 14 days of starting the course. This will be collected from the learner and passed on to the awarding organisation for registration and certification purposes. The final certification you get is the same, regardless of your route. There are no strict deadlines for submitting individual coursework, allowing you room and flexibility to pace your studies; the only deadline is the overall course duration based on the option you selected above.

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
