The aim of the Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business is to provide students with in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business setting. This course will focus on understanding the business environment, offer depth study of technical skills for business, and providing opportunities to acquire technical and practical skills.
The course has been designed to be completed within a timeframe of 6 months. However, we provide flexible time duration in delivery to accommodate distance and part-time learning, so you can complete the course in as little as 3 weeks. The qualification is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment.
All units within this course are internally analysed by our internal assessors and externally verified by NCFE. This course is criterion-referenced based on specific learning outcomes. Each unit is graded using the following structure; Not Yet Achieved, Pass, Merit, and Distinction.
Successful completion of this qualification enables learners to get direct entry into Level 3 Diplomas in Customer Service, management, and could even lead to a foundation degree in any business-related discipline.

For entry into this course, students must meet the following criteria:
• This course can be offered to students of all ages. BSLM does not specify learning requirements for such qualifications. However, students may find it useful if they have already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
• Learners must have the capability to undertake the assessment and meet the learning criteria.
Learners are expected to have English language proficiency of CEFR Level B2, this can be met in any one the following ways:
1. Being a native English language speaker
2. Having achieved an IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
3. Having had your last two years of schooling in English
4. Passing our online English language test
Awarding body fee of £107.50 is payable by the learner to the awarding organisation within 14 days of starting the course. This will be collected from the learner and passed on to the awarding organisation for registration and certification purposes. The final certification you get is the same, regardless of your route. There are no strict deadlines for submitting individual coursework, allowing you room and flexibility to pace your studies; the only deadline is the overall course duration based on the option you selected above.

All age groups can enrol in this course. There are no learning requirements for this certification in the BSLM. If you already possess a Level 1 qualification, though, you might find it beneficial.

I have worked in education for 34 years, in various guises. I managed a busy nursery for 12 years before branching out into Assessment and Quality Assurance, more than 20 years ago. My practice has developed alongside the ever-evolving training and apprenticeship sector, and I have worked in many different settings, including colleges, private training agencies and a foster care agency. I also work part time as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for a local charity that supports higher level education for young people with Special Educational and/or behavioural needs and as a tutor for a bespoke programme for one-to-one support. I really enjoy supporting learners of varying abilities and experience to achieve their best and to become qualified in their chosen field.
